Psalm 34:8-18 | Exodus 14:19-15:21 | Matthew 22:15-22

My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living water, and dug out cis-terns for themselves, cracked cisterns that can hold no water. Jeremiah 2:13

Christ says, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Forgiving God, we confess our failures to serve you and our decisions to openly sin against you, others, self, and your good creation. We claim your forgiveness as we seek rest from the burdens produced by our sinfulness. Amen.

  1. Thanks for being the cloud, God. The cloud that separates us from worry, so that we can focus on your will. As the Israelites and Egyptians were separated by your vigilant cloud, we can let our worries go as if they didn’t exist and give energy to your work.
