Psalm 35:11-18 | Exodus 18:7-19:9 | Matthew 23:13-22
The Lord executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and loves the strangers, providing them food and clothing. You shall also love the stranger. Deuteronomy 10:18,19
We ought to support such people, so that we may become co-workers with the truth. 3 John 8
God of justice, you are never biased. However, you always favor the powerless, the marginalized, the downtrodden, the hungry, the homeless and the addicted. You call upon us to do the same so we might be co-workers with the truth. Give us courage to face the forces of power and work for justice in every arena of our lives. Amen.
How are we roadblocks to God’s Kingdom? We are always judging yet do
not want to be judged. We are always asking why me Lord when we
should be praying for others. Ours is not to judge but to be judged.
Live the life you want to be judged not the life inwhich you will not
or cannot keep your promises.
Wanted to reword that last statement.
I want to live the life God wants me to live and not the one where I cannot live into his promises.
Sorry- I got a little out there on this one.
I want to share something I heard last week:) In prayer, praise God 90% of the time, petition 10%.
God wants His best for us, not our best. Thank God for people like Jethro who open our eyes to His best.
Mighty Lord, You are the leader of all; I am your delegate. My human nature struggles to give up control. The more power you share with me, the more I tend to try to take over. Help me accept that it is your plan, not mine. Also, help me recognize that it is part of your will that things sometimes fail. Give me the confidence and strength to accept the role you have chosen for me. Lord, you are my guide, my couselor, my love. Thank you for always being with me. Amen
